Plastic

Please Recycle

  • Containers with a neck or screw-on lid (6 oz. or larger)
  • Bottles with a base wider than the neck, such as soda or water bottles (6 oz. or larger)
  • Jugs (milk, juice, etc.)
  • Margarine or yogurt-type tubs (6 oz. or larger)

Please Do Not Recycle

  • Plastic lids or caps
  • Plastic bags
  • Disposable plates, cups, or cutlery
  • Take-out containers
  • Any plastic container under 6 oz., including prescription bottles
  • Gloves
  • Plastic bottles that have come into contact with motor oil, pesticides, or herbicides

Paper

Please Recycle

  • Newspapers
  • Phone Books
  • Magazines and catalogues
  • Office Paper
  • Junk Mail
  • Milk Cartons & Aseptic boxes
  • Various misc. paper (cereal boxes, egg cartons, wrapping paper & greeting cards without foil)
  • Shredded paper – MUST be in a paper bag (so it does not blow away when dumped from cart)
  • Cardboard – Please flatten. Be sure cardboard falls loosely from the cart. It may be necessary to cut large pieces.

Please Do Not Recycle

  • Any food-contaminated material, including pizza boxes
  • Freezer food cartons
  • Coffee cups
  • Take-out food containers
  • Paper towels or tissues
  • Paper plates or napkins

Please do not recycle paper items containing or coated in food, wax, foil, or plastic.

Metal

Please Recycle

  • Tin and steel food cans (no need to flatten or remove labels)
  • Aluminum foil (free of food)
  • Empty dry metal paint cans
  • Empty aerosol cans
  • Scrap metal (smaller than 30" by 8" and not heavier than 30 lbs.)

If you include small items (lids, hardware, etc.), place them in a tin can and close the ends to trap items inside.

How to Recycle Glass

All colors of glass are recyclable, and labels do not have to be removed. Please ensure that all glass recyclables are sorted into the yellow bin. DO NOT put glass in your blue cart. Do not bag your glass, place glass loosely in the bin.
